Here are some photos to highlight our vacation:
Maine Lakes are gorgeous during the summer.
Portland is one of my favorite cities to visit. Its so much fun to walk around and check out all of the unique things it offers. It's full of amazing art, delicious seafood and a local pride. I love their big push to BUY LOCAL.
One afternoon we took a ferry out of Portland to nearby Peaks Island. We rented bikes and pedaled for a good hour. We bought locally made honey from this adorable stand on the shore.
Mike and I get a little competitive when we play games against each other. Mini golf can get very intense! After the match (I lost!), we treated ourselves to a Maine Rocky Coast Sundae which had blueberry ice cream topped with blueberry sauce, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry.
One of my favorite daytrips was to the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth. The lighthouse was breathtaking. It was a very scenic place to picnic.
On our last day, we hiked Douglas Mountain. The steep hike was worth it for this spectacular view! Not pictured were the delicious wild blueberries that we snacked on.
It was so nice to relax for a week and restore myself. Sometimes you have to put that to-do list down and take time for yourself.
I love your photos, I can't believe you get to go every summer! Lucky you! Cape Elizabeth, Maine, was actually my hub's and my anniversary trip this summer... we tasted a lot of local wines (one that uses mostly honey in their wine!) and Portland was so much fun. I have some pictures of my trip on my blog somewhere. Keep relaxed!
