Mexico 2011 Trip

First of all, happy new year to everyone! My husband and I started off 2011 by taking a cruise to Mexico last Saturday. It was a fantastic adventure for the both of us. We got married a few months ago ( I have to upload the pictures in my next post!), but we were very busy with work and him back in school. This trip was very much needed! I couldn't have asked for a better travel buddy, and I'm so thankful for this trip because it gave us 6 full days of alone time. No phones, computers, work, school or any other distractions. Just him and me :)
I had never been to a real coconut beach before. They are cut up and sold as drinks on the boardwalk, but I wanted to climb the tree and try one myself (I didn't, but it looked like fun!).

We also went to the sleepy fishing village turned beach paradise of Costa Maya

We visited the ruins of Tulum, a thousand old archeological park that is now inhabited by iguanas like in the picture below. Tulum is a remarkable place, and most of the original structures are still intact.

It was 85+ degrees weather in Mexico and I was ready to change into my dress!

There was a beautiful beach at the cliffs below the site.

Mike and I are also planning a trip at the end of the year to visit London. I'm so excited for all the good things this year will bring and really happy to travel with my best friend.

Cheers to 2011!

  2. I keep hearing that too! It seems to be a hot spot.

My sister's husband lived there for 6 months and I remember you living there too! I can't wait to go. You'll have to tell me some good places to visit in London :)
